So, what will a Senior Data Analyst at Terrestris do?

The Military-Civilian Transition Office (MCTO) requires programmatic research, analysis, assessments, product development, document drafting, recommendations, coordination, synchronization, and analytic support services for Service members preparing for their next step in life - whether pursuing an additional vocational trade or higher education, finding employment in the public or private sector, or starting their own business; or Reserve Component (RC) members and their families adjusting to pre- and post-activation, mobilization or deployment. MCTO designs cohesive, modular, outcome-based training, events and courses that bolsters and standardizes the opportunities, services, and training to promote effective and efficient support of transitioning Service members and members of the National Guard and Reserve, their families and communities worldwide.

What does a typical day look like for a Senior Data Analyst?

You will:

  • Be responsible for developing and implementing a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
  • Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Visualize, interpret, report data findings, and may create dynamic data reports.
  • Develop statistical analysis plans and data management procedures using relational database principles, protocols, and methodology.
  • Integrate and analyze data from many sources, including resolving data problems.
  • Conduct complex and detailed quantitative statistical analyses, using statistical analysis software such as SAS, to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of programs and service delivery.
  • Perform quantitative statistical analyses using complex analytic methods, including multiple regression, general linear model, correlation, t-test, creating composite variables, and longitudinal analysis.
  • Perform qualitative statistical analysis of large datasets of written comments in order to identify themes and draw validated conclusions.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the leader we’re looking for if you have:

  • A Secret Security clearance.
  • At least 8 Years of Data Analyst experience.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools such as R, Python, or SAS.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating large datasets.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib for presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques for predictive modeling and data mining.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive may be beneficial.
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify trends, and derive meaningful insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to data analysis.
  • Experience with data cleaning, transformation, and validation techniques.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniques.
