So, what will the Role Player at Terrestris do?

The Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC) is set up by the North Atlantic Council under Article 14 of the Protocol on the Status of International Military Headquarters (1952) and has been delegated a defined legal capacity by Headquarters, Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT) through its terms of Reference and the Supplementary Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and Headquarters, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation and the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe to the Protocol on the Status of International Military Headquarters set up pursuant to the North Atlantic Treaty.

What does a typical day look like for the Interpreter?

You will:

  • Execute vignettes as directed by Training Control Staff
  • Remain in character for up to 12 hours a day throughout PDT event
  • Participate in and support daily SME and internal co-ordination meetings as directed
  • Provide input into PDT event After Action Review (AAR)
  • Interact with Training Audience as directed by Training Control Staff
  • Perform miscellaneous Training Objective related tasks as directed by Training Control Staff
  • Support Training Control Staff with verbal and written translation as required

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the person we’re looking for if you have:

  • General knowledge of NATO advisory mission to Iraq
  • Native Iraqi Arabic speaker or Non-native Iraqi Arabic speaker registered officially as qualified Iraqi Arabic interpreter with a proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Native English language speaker or non-native English language speaker with a proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English
  • NATO SECRET security classification certificate valid for the duration of the contract (Preferred)
  • Experience in as an interpreter on military training environment
  • Experience with interpreting conversations Arabic-English and vice versa
  • Experience while interpreting at executive decision-making level
  • The ability to effectively use online communication platforms (GoTo Meeting, Skype for Business, Zoom etc) for occasions where virtual delivery is directed as a result of prevailing conditions at the time of execution
