This job is on-site at FBI facilities in the Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA) / National Capital Region (NCR).

So, what will the Knowledge Management Resource Terrestris do?

As the APEX Developer, you will support the Accounting & Technology Section (ATS) to enhance and maintain critical financial and accounting applications. You will work closely with ATS team members, stakeholders, and project managers to support and optimize the functionality of financial systems and provide customized solutions using Oracle APEX technology. Your work will directly support the FBI’s mission to ensure the financial integrity of its operations, while maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance.

What does a typical day look like for the Knowledge Management Resource?

You will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Oracle APEX applications tailored to support accounting and financial operations.
  • Implement dynamic web applications that interact with the FBI’s financial and accounting data, ensuring accurate data processing and reporting.
  • Perform testing and debugging of applications to ensure full functionality and eliminate issues.
  • Assist with deployment and rollout of applications, ensuring that all systems are up to date and secure.
  • Work with various stakeholders to integrate financial data from multiple sources into the Oracle APEX system.
  • Create custom reports and dashboards that provide insights into financial performance, adhering to FBI security and compliance standards.
  • Design data models and SQL queries to ensure optimal performance and efficient retrieval of data for reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into APEX-based solutions.
  • Maintain documentation for all systems, processes, and configurations, ensuring that future modifications and updates can be easily executed.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to non-technical users and other developers within the team.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance for APEX applications, including performance tuning, updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay current with new features and best practices in Oracle APEX development, recommending improvements to increase system efficiency and functionality.
  • Ensure that all development work complies with FBI security protocols and regulations, including data protection and privacy requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure applications meet all applicable federal guidelines.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:

  • The authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • An active Top-Secret (TS) Clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated professional experience developing applications using Oracle Application Express (version 5.1 or higher).
  • Proficient understanding and extensive hands-on experience with Oracle DDL syntax and PL/SQL programming language.
  • Proven practical knowledge and experience working within Agile software development frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and business analysts to ensure alignment on project objectives.
  • Effective interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • An adaptable work ethic and the capability to effectively manage evolving project requirements and deadlines.
  • A proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues.
