So, what will the Site Security Manager/ Super Verifying Official at Terrestris do?

As the ID Card Site Security Manager / Super Verifying Official you will oversee the security and verification processes for the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and the Real-Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS). You will be responsible for maintaining site security, ensuring compliance with DoD policies, and supervising the verification of ID card issuance and related services.

What does a typical day look like for the Site Security Manager/ Super Verifying Official?

You will:

  • Serve as the Site Security Manager and Super Verifying Official, overseeing secure operations of DEERS/RAPIDS sites.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) policies related to ID card issuance, site security, and personnel verification.
  • Conduct identity proofing and verification of eligibility for military personnel, retirees, and dependents.
  • Manage system access, ensuring only authorized personnel have access to DEERS/RAPIDS.
  • Train and supervise Verifying Officials (VOs) to ensure adherence to security protocols and operational standards.
  • Maintain site security, monitoring for potential threats and ensuring compliance with federal security regulations.
  • Oversee the processing and issuance of Common Access Cards (CACs) and dependent ID cards.
  • Coordinate with military and government agencies to resolve ID card and DEERS-related issues.
  • Ensure all personnel handling DEERS/RAPIDS are properly trained and certified.
  • Conduct periodic audits and reviews of site security practices, taking corrective actions as necessary.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the Site Security Manager we’re looking for if you have:

  • Experience managing DEERS/RAPIDS sites and performing ID card verification duties.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD identity management policies and security procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to train and manage staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information securely.

Additional requirements include:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with a favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or equivalent, including a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) 10-fingerprint check.
  • Must have never been relieved of Certification Authority, Registration Authority, Local Registration Authority, DEERS roles, or Communication Security custodian duties due to negligence or non-performance.
  • Must have never been denied a security clearance, had a security clearance revoked, or been convicted of a felony offense.
  • Must have completed IPPS-A R3 HR Professional training and IPPS-A training relevant to assigned duties (e.g., Supervisors must complete R3 Supervisor training).

We are extra impressed by folks with:

  • Prior experience as a Verifying Official (VO) or Site Security Manager in a military or government setting.
  • Familiarity with Common Access Card (CAC) issuance processes and military personnel systems.
  • Experience conducting audits and ensuring compliance with federal security regulations.
