So, what will the Senior Technical Trainer at Terrestris do?

The vision for GPOI is to promote international peace and security by reinforcing the global commitment to achieve and sustain effectiveness in United Nations (UN) and regional peace operations. In support of this vision, the GPOI mission is to strengthen the effectiveness of UN and regional peace operations by enhancing partner countries’ capacities to prepare, deploy, and sustain peacekeepers and reinforcing UN and regional organizations’ performance and accountability frameworks.

Specifically, this role serves as an onsite support of the Team Lead’s principal trainer in conducting various peacekeeping-related contract training requirements and position new bureaus for long-term success with the application.

What does a typical day look like for the Senior Technical Trainer?

You will:

  • Manage the United Nations Infantry Battalion Manual (UN Inf Bn) MPKI Cycle to ensure that the Battalion Commander’s decision-making process is fully supported with timely, succinct, and relevant peacekeeping intelligence product
  • Ensure that UN Inf Bn information acquisition activities are conducted in support of Sector Priority and other Information Requirements (IRs)
  • Maintain an Information Acquisition Plan (IAP) that fully aligns with Sector Headquarters IRs
  • Produce timely, relevant, concise, and predictive peacekeeping-intelligence products to support the protection of UN personnel and civilians, as required
  • Develop a most likely and most dangerous threat actor course of action, and briefs this to all patrol commanders and staff planners to allow operational threat mitigation
  • Ensure that all relevant information and peacekeeping-intelligence is provided to higher and subordinate units in a timely fashion
  • Track missions and troops throughout task execution while operating as part of a tactical operations center 24-hours a day in a peacekeeping environment

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the leader we’re looking for if you have:

  • The ability to speak French fluently
  • A minimum of 10 years of U.S. or NATO military experience, including service after September 11, 2001
  • Demonstrated military experience as a military intelligence practitioner
  • Relevant military operations or foreign security force (police or military) capacity building experience in the last 5 years
  • Experience as a trainer to a foreign security partner, military or civilian
  • Completion of a U.S. or foreign equivalent recognized military intelligence course for land forces (Preferred)
  • Experience working in sub-Saharan Africa (Preferred)
