So, what will the Technical Trainer at Terrestris do?

The vision for GPOI is to promote international peace and security by reinforcing the global commitment to achieve and sustain effectiveness in United Nations (UN) and regional peace operations. In support of this vision, the GPOI mission is to strengthen the effectiveness of UN and regional peace operations by enhancing partner countries’ capacities to prepare, deploy, and sustain peacekeepers and reinforcing UN and regional organizations’ performance and accountability frameworks.

Specifically, this role serves as an onsite support of the Senior Technical Trainers in the conduct of all technical contract training requirements. The Technical Trainer will be responsible for training new users in how to use the system and position new bureaus for long-term success with the application.

What does a typical day look like for the Technical Trainer? 

You will:

  • Create detailed and user-friendly training materials, including manuals, guides, and video tutorials tailored to various learning styles and user needs
  • Develop engaging and informative guides that highlight key features and benefits of the case management application to encourage adoption among end-users
  • Design comprehensive training plans that cater to different levels of user expertise, ensuring a structured and effective learning experience
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions for end-users, providing hands-on guidance and support.
  • Offer ongoing support and assistance to users during the initial rollout phase to ensure smooth adoption and integration of the application
  • Gather feedback from training sessions and user interactions to continuously improve training materials and strategies
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop strategies and materials that effectively market the case management application to other bureaus within the Department

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the Technical Trainer we’re looking for if you have:

  • Must speak French fluently
  • A minimum of 5 years of technical experience which includes a relevant blend of military skills, experience, knowledge, and current certifications
  • Proficiency in creating training materials using various tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders and end-users
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt training methods to suit different audiences and learning styles
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a part-time capacity
