So, what will the Senior Technical Trainer at Terrestris do?

The vision for GPOI is to promote international peace and security by reinforcing the global commitment to achieve and sustain effectiveness in United Nations (UN) and regional peace operations. In support of this vision, the GPOI mission is to strengthen the effectiveness of UN and regional peace operations by enhancing partner countries’ capacities to prepare, deploy, and sustain peacekeepers and reinforcing UN and regional organizations’ performance and accountability frameworks.

Specifically, this role serves as an onsite support of the Team Lead’s principal trainer in conducting various peacekeeping-related contract training requirements and position new bureaus for long-term success with the application.

What does a typical day look like for the Senior Technical Trainer?

You will:

  • Coordinate the develop course material to cover UN Operational Support structure
  • Adjust learning objectives as necessary
  • Evaluate training material for improvements
  • Initiate Environmental Management compliance measures
  • Train and mentor Technical Trainers
  • Participate in industry related forums to ensure accuracy of technical information
  • Develop SOP for vehicle operation requirements to include vehicle operator safety, license requirements, dispatch procedures, radio checks, hazardous goods certification, and movement reports
  • Differentiate between UN and TCC mission support requirements and responsibilities
  • Develop basic SOP for units to request, receive, store, issue, dispose, secure, and organize supplies, parts, and weapons in warehouses, conexes, and arms rooms
  • Understand how changes in the personnel status may affect the unit’s ability to conduct operations.
  • Collaborate with Team Leads to develop strategies and materials that effectively market the case management application to other bureaus within the Department
  • Continue self-study to understand all technologies

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the leader we’re looking for if you have:

  • The ability to speak French fluently
  • A minimum of 10 years of U.S. or NATO military experience, including service after September 11, 2001
  • Experience manning, arming, fueling, fixing, moving, and routinely sustaining personnel
  • Relevant military operations or foreign security force (police or military) capacity building experience in the last 5 years
  • An understanding of Level 1 medical support staffing, equipping, roles, and responsibilities
  • An understanding of basic UN Contingent Owned Equipment (COE) System concepts for reference documents, equipment classification, reimbursements, claims, and verification and inspection standards
  • At least one deployment to a combat, peacekeeping, or other contingency operation while serving in a logistics unit or assigned as logistics staff officer (Preferred)
  • Experience as trainer to a foreign security partner (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 15 cumulative years of U.S. or NATO military experience, including combat arms battalion/brigade staff officer experience on a U.S. or NATO military staff (Preferred)
  • Attainment of military grade of O4 and higher or NATO equivalent (Preferred)
  • Battalion or brigade staff experience while deployed to a combat, peacekeeping, or other contingency operation (Preferred)
  • Regional experience in Sub-Saharan Africa (Preferred)
